How to install and configure a psybnc IRC bouncer

psyBNC still works. SSH in. It daemonizes. Screen/tmux are for irssi/weechat.

cd ~
wget http://www.psybnc.at/download/beta/psyBNC-2.3.2-7.tar.gz
tar -zxvf psyBNC-2.3.2-7.tar.gz
cd psybnc
make menuconfig

In menuconfig: compiling options, then Bouncer Config — listen port, user, password, vhost/bind. Exit; it compiles. Start:

./psybnc

It forks. Confirm with ps x. Connect: How do I connect to the psyBNC after its installed?.

AUP: max 2 IRC connections per shell to a given network. The bouncer's uplink counts.

Prefer ZNC? ZNC install — webadmin, playback, bind vhost.
